This fall I am focusing on adding a few high quality key pieces to my wardrobe. I’m hoping to select pieces that allow me to incorporate a few trends but are classic enough to remain staples in my fall wardrobe for years to come. Keep reading to see the 5 items on my fall clothing wishlist this year!
1. Midi Skirt
I added a camel-color wool midi skirt to my collection last winter and got so much use out of it. It transitions so easily from the office to the weekend and can be dressed up or down. This season I’m looking to add a pleated or ribbed midi skirt. Whether it’s knitted or satin I know it will be a staple in my capsule wardrobe this fall.
2. Sweater Dress
I love wearing dresses because throwing on one item takes the work out of putting an outfit together. Knitwear and cutouts are going to be everywhere this fall, and these sweater dresses with cutouts combine the best of both trends. I’ve selected options that do not have overly revealing cutouts so that the pieces could be worn in a variety of settings and will be stylish for years to come.
3. Wide Leg Trousers
When thinking of my workwear wardrobe, I realized most of my work pants are cropped. While I enjoy wearing cropped pants, I feel there is a hole in my collection that I’d like to fill this season. Now that wide leg pants have gained popularity, I’d like to add a neutral pair of wide leg trousers to my closet.
4. Sweater Vest
Sweater vests have been on-trend for the past few seasons and are here to stay this fall. Instead of going for something patterned or printed, I’d like to add a plain-colored sweater vest to my wardrobe in order to participate in the trend yet keep my wardrobe versatile.
Here are some of the pieces I have my eye on:
5. White Button-up Shirt
I’ve been on the hunt for the best white button-up shirt for quite a while now. I can’t believe I haven’t added one to my collection yet! I’ve rounded up a couple options and plan to place an order soon. I know this classic piece will pair perfectly with much of my wardrobe, including many of the other items mentioned in this post!
