Happy Spring! While the weather hasn’t quite warmed up yet here in the Midwest, I am ready to swap out wool knits for a lighter and brighter Spring workwear capsule wardrobe. In this post I’m highlighting 3 items that I think are timeless, classic, and perfect for workwear this Spring. Two of these items are new in my wardrobe this year, but I know that I’ll be able to wear them for years to come as I curate my workwear capsule wardrobe.

1. A Striped Blue Collared Shirt
There is something so timeless about a crisp collared shirt. The blue and white stripes are a classic workwear choice that brightens up any outfit. This shirt I’m wearing in the pictures below is this oversized one from Banana Republic. It’s easy enough to tuck in for workwear, but you could also use it in summer with linen shorts or over a bathing suit. I got an XS and it’s still quite oversized, so keep that in mind! It comes in a couple other colors that would be just as nice in a Spring/Summer workwear capsule wardrobe.
2. Wide Leg Trousers in a Light Neutral Color
We all know that straight and wide leg trousers are currently right on trend. I got this cropped pair by Marella from an outlet store last year (similar option from Marella here), however, there are so many great options to choose from if you don’t already have a pair in your closet. Consider this pair by Reiss or these from H&M. The light neutral colors are perfect to brighten up your Spring workwear.
3. Beige Loafers
I absolutely love loafers for workwear. I find them more professional and more comfortable than ballet flats. I’ve been searching for loafers in the perfect beige shade for months now. I ended up going with this pair from & Other Stories because of pink undertone and the gorgeous gold buckle detail. They definitely do run big and don’t come in half sizes – I picked up my normal size but probably could have sized down a full size.
These 3 key pieces pair perfectly together to form the perfect base to a Spring workwear capsule wardrobe and can be mixed and matched with other Spring workwear items. Some other items I’m incorporating into my workwear this Spring include a floral blouse, a white cardigan, and the navy suit shown in some of the pictures above.
